A Word From Our Founder

What is Modesty?

When I think of modesty, it has little to do with appearance and everything to do with who I am as a person. There is an official definition, of course, but, in my opinion modesty goes hand in hand with humility.

It's about knowing who I am in God and placing a high value on it. It is not about "covering up" or "showing less". It's about giving God the respect He deserves.

The Bible doesn't completely bare out how women should dress, or men, for that matter; but it does say that our bodies are the temple of God's Holy Spirit.

When we look in the mirror, the question we should ask ourselves is: "Do I look more like God today?" (Inwardly and outwardly). Would God see Himself if He looked at me? Would He want to sit down with me, talk and maybe have dinner?

Modesty is about submitting to God, not only in the way we walk but also in our day to day conversation, even down to the way we dress. Our desire should be to please God in every way, and those are my sentiments on the matter.

May the Lord continue to rain His blessing upon us!
