Modesty in dress sends a message of purity and honor. It shows the values of the inner person over outward attractiveness. When we choose to dress in a provocative way, we send a message that our value comes from our looks rather than from our heart. I choose to care for and protect my body so that I can be an instrument in the hands of God. Dressing modestly shows the outside world that we are different.

I always get asked questions in stores or restaurants such as, “Your dressed very nicely, what’s the occasion?” Or “ What church do you go to?” With the way I dress people notice a difference between us and the non-Christian and because we catch their attention it gives us a chance to tell them about Jesus!

Dressing modestly doesn’t mean I lack boldness or that I'm not confident enough to show off my body. It actually means that I've become satisfied with my inner self to the point where I'd rather reveal my mind and thoughts to the world instead of my body.  Modesty allows us to preserve yet reveal our dignity. Now, what exactly is dignity?
